What is Power Pause?
Power Pause isn't just a workout class; it's a sanctuary for menopausal women. Beyond the invigorating mix of strength, cardio, mobility and balance training the group fosters a safe space for open dialogue about the often-taboo realities of menopause. Laughter mingles with shared experiences of hot flashes, mood swings, and sleepless nights, creating a powerful sense of community.
Having been perimenopausal since 2022, I’ve been on quite a journey with injury, inflammatory responses, as well as the never ending rollercoaster of emotions.. and don’t get me started on the facial hair!! All is not lost though, I’ve learned how my body prefers to move these days and adapted to ensure that I still feel great within myself, both physically and emotionally.
My aim is to empower women to navigate their emotional landscapes with newfound resilience. More than just physical fitness, Power Pause cultivates a supportive sisterhood, reminding women that they are not alone and that this phase of life can be embraced with strength and confidence.
What should I expect?
Power Pause is a 10 week course which will equip you with knowledge, practical solutions and emotional support to help you embrace the menopause.
Shortly after registration, I will contact you to arrange a 20 minute one to one video consultation as an introduction and health screening, plus answer any questions you have.
The 10 week course starts on Monday 28th April with a 30 minute group video call (in the evening) for the group to familiarise themselves with each other.
We will meet every Thursday evening at 6:00pm for a group exercise session in St Nicholas Park in Warwick, the session will last approx. 60 minutes with a further option for drinks and a ‘social’ in the New Bowling Green afterwards.
I will offer ongoing support and advice throughout the course duration.
Be part of a community - there will be a dedicated Whats App group which is of course optional to join.
I will also organise a hike and picnic at the end of the course, this will most likely be on a weekend and the date will be agreed via group poll.
What is involved during the fitness sessions?
Power Pause fitness sessions will be around 60 mins and every one of them is planned and tailored to suit the health requirements of all participants.
During the 10 week course I will include all aspects of exercise in menopause; resistance training (an important factor in lowering the risk of osteoporosis), gentle cardio (to lower the risk of heart disease), balance and coordination (which tend to suffer as we get older) as well as gentle stretching and joint mobility. Sessions will also include emotional management through the use of boxing pads, slam balls and battle ropes, to name a few.
The format of each session will vary between Circuits, Metafit HIIT, Animal Flow, Boxing, Rabble (fun games for grown ups) and yoga based stretching.
By targeting these key areas, we aim to balance hormonal symptoms, reduce some of the health risks associated with menopause, grow confidence and most importantly, have fun with like minded women.
What does it cost?
The Power Pause 10 week course costs £175pp* and includes the following;
Initial one to one video consultation via Zoom
10 x 1 hour fitness session every Thursday evening at 6:00pm in Warwick
Ongoing support via Whats App, both in a group and one to one
Weekend hike and picnic in an awesome location
